The question that is likely sitting at the front of your mind is, “How much?” Fair enough. Unfortunately, it’s not an easy question to answer.
There are many parameters that go into pricing a project, including:
- service required (development editing, copy-editing, proofreading or some combination?)
- level of intervention required (has it been reviewed before or does it need a significant amount of work? Is it table- or graph-heavy? Does it have footnotes and/or appendices?)
- turnaround time (do you need your material back in hours, days, weeks?)
- repeat business (is it a regular product, like a magazine or newsletter, or a one-off, like a book, article, or dissertation?)
